The time to really celebrate and appreciate our planet has come! We’ve all heard a lot about how climate change is affecting our Earth and how we need to shape up and treat the planet with some respect before it’s gone.

A perfect opportunity to celebrate what Earth has given us and treat Mother Nature with some respect is Earth Day! A whole day dedicated to loving the Earth. Along with community clean ups and throwing away trash you see haphazardly thrown about, there are some events for Earth Day that you can go to to get knowledgeable about the planet and how to treat it. Here they are.

Earth Day Expo

There is also Earth Day Expo at the Carroll County Public Library – North Carroll Branch from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 22. Here you can learn more about recycling, gardening, bee keeping, and way more! You can even try milking a goat or making a craft from recycled materials!

South Branch Cleanup and Cookout

Join SPARC as they clean up along the South Branch Patapsco River along River Road. Trash bags will be provided and we recommend that you bring some heavy duty or gardening gloves to pick up trash!

After the cleanup there will be a cookout and some fun games! This event is on April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Help Your Community!

Help out your community by recycling, picking up trash that’s thrown about, not littering, and just generally being respectful to the Earth around you. Turn off the lights when you leave a room, and turn off the water if you’re not using it. Be aware of how you affect the environment!
