On April 3rd, two dogs died in a fire in the yard of an Eldersburg residence on the 5600 block of Bartholow Road. The fire also caught on multiple vehicles along with the kennel that housed the dogs.
The first call was received at 3:40 p.m. and 10 firefighters responded and had the fire under control in about 10 minutes. The estimated damage is $5,000 according to the notice.
On a related, slightly better note, 27 dogs were rescued from a Hampstead home on Friday. While animal control officers recovered 11 dead dogs, the couple who owned the dogs was put behind bars.
All dogs are now at the Humane Society of Carroll County. There are 20 Dalmatians, five Golden Retrievers, and two English Setters.
