September 4, 2018 – Today, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) continued discussion on the Freedom Community Comprehensive Plan. The board continued to review a first draft presentation, prepared by Commissioners Howard and Rothschild, which began last week on August 30, 2018.

Today, the Board completed an initial discussion of the original set of 31 recommended changes and elaborated the details on discussion points. Focus then returned to the beginning of the list with dialog about each item for discussion and a vote on the suggested language.

At the completion of the session today, the commissioners tentatively approved a revised Freedom Vision Statement and completed a list of plan modifications to be discussed during the next two weeks.

The following dates are scheduled for further discussion:
9/11/18 BCC Freedom Plan Discussion, Open Session 8:30 a.m. *note change

9/18/18 BCC Freedom Plan Discussion, Open Session 10:00 a.m.

The BCC will schedule a public hearing in October and, based upon progress, will schedule a vote during open session on or before October 23, 2018.
