You can find some great local music in Westminster, which is hosting a month of free Sunday Concerts in Westminster City Park this July, as it has for 21 years now. This Sunday, July 26, the concert series wraps things up with Carroll County favorites Dean Crawford and The Dunn’s River Band.
Dean is a prolific country music singer and songwriter who’s written more than 500 songs. He and The Dunn’s River Band not only perform locally but also have opened for many Nashville greats, including George Jones. You can check out videos of some of the band’s music by visiting their website.
They play both cover songs and original songs, including modern country, old traditional country, southern rock, sing-along songs, and even a little classic rock. They are seven members strong, with Dean Crawford on lead vocals, Kenny Wise on fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar, and vocals, Bobby Lawrence on drums, Billy Coley on steel guitar, Bobby Murphy on lead guitar and vocals, Mike Clark on bass guitar, and Mike Chakwin on keyboards.
